Monitoring
Our distributed model of biochar production requires robust traceability, strict protocols, and complete transparency to deliver high-quality biochar carbon removal credits. Data collection begins in the field using a mobile app, which records every step of the biochar production process, from the source of biomass and pyrolysis to the bagging and application of biochar. Each action is documented with time-stamped and GPS-tagged photos, ensuring precise tracking. Supervisors collect this data, which is then cross-referenced by our management team using IoT sensors and machine learning programs for accuracy and consistency.

This includes information on feedstock types, production timelines, GPS locations for production and application, and the quantities of biochar produced and applied. Additionally, Carboneers is also developing annual reports on secondary project impacts, such as financial benefits to local communities, gender equality opportunities, job creation, and improvements in soil health to complement regular biochar and carbon credit data submissions.

These organizations assess the accuracy and integrity of the submitted data to ensure compliance with carbon credit standards. When verified as true and accurate, carbon credits are issued to Carboneers’ account. This rigorous verification process underpins the trustworthiness of our biochar projects and guarantees the credibility of the carbon removal credits generated.
